Bruce compiles 'survival dossier' for Wolves

If the media are right, then the vacant managerial role at Molinuex is Alan Curbishley's to lose.

The former Charlton and West Ham manager was the first name that came out of the lips of owner Steve Morgan and he would appear to be one of the first candidates to be interviewed at some stage today.

One of the other leading contenders is former Sunderland, Birmingham and Wigan boss Steve Bruce and according to the Daily Star he is planning to wow Morgan and Moxey during the interview process with a 'survival dossier' in the hopes of impressing and getting the gig.

Bruce of course has one major positive over Curbishley and that is that he may well appear to have his finger on the pulse, with Curbs having not been in the game for a number of years.

That said, there doesn't appear to be much supporter backing for Bruce, which must also come into play when the board make their decision.

We the supporters, need to be united going into the final run-in, can the board risk seeing a split supporter base over a new manager?

I have a suspicion that Curbs has already acquired the post on the qt and everything else is smoke and mirrors. Watch the sky sports interview with Curbs, a Freudian slip sees him refer to Wolves as ‘we’. It's only for a micro-second before corrected, but it's there!!

I don't know if Curbs is the man to save you hes been out of the game for a long long time....Bruce needs money to do ANYTHING and he simply isnt a v.good manager, Chris Hughton would be a good nod hes done it on a shoe string at Newcastle and was still sacked and is now doing the same for Birmingham!! Warnock isn't regarded as a Prem manager Eriksson seems past his sell by date...Is Rafa even a realistic target?? Roy Keane 50/50 on him either the players would respond or they would run and hide!! either way i hope you survive the drop and the Board back the new manager with funds if you do survive out of the list in the poll Hughton would be choice.

Curbs is the man. For sure.

To Mr Curbishley, I appreciate you will need a week or too to bed in and get to know everybody but do the Wolves fans 1 favour. Please please please bring in your own back room staff. If we are gonna move forward then we need to get rid of all the dead wood starting with TC.
Rustmonkey
You're so right Rustmonkey! The club does need to get rid of the dead wood amongst the coaching staff, starting with TC.I know it would smack of London bias if Curbs is appointed, but how about Ray Wilkins as his No 2.Chelsea haven't been anywhere near the team they were since he left.
corbo
I hope HE doesn't survive the interview, dossier or no dossier. My choices are: 1) Rafa 2) Wilkins 3) Curbushley. Yes corbo, Rustmonkey - new coaching staff, new (to WW) systems, new everything, to go with MoliNEW. Rather have Mick back than this failure.

Combo......I have been shouting for Wilkins as head coach for days.......totally agree
Rustmonkey
It's going to be Curbishley but I would like him to bring in Wilkins and team.

Yep, spot on boys.

Bet you Clipboard and Greaseball survive!!

My preference is Curbishley. Yes he has been out of the game for a while, but as a pundit would know players and probably watch as much footie a s a manager anyone. What has really changed in 3 yrs.....the game is still the same... Bruce, not a favourite, but has had some decent prem campaigns before this one. Not as bad as some make out. I think Sunderland may have turned it around anyway, lot of squad changes take time to bed in. Warnock...no way. I detest that man.

AC's son has tweeted that his Dad isn't confident about being offered the job. Apparently Wolves are relaxed about that but doesn't make for good reading considering he seems to be the fans choice. There are more to be interviewed. Bruce gets his chance today but more over the weekend. Would appear that Warnock could be heading North. That must leave Bruce in the running????? We obviously don't know who else is actually in the running so it could be someone out of left field. Have to say that I am a little worried now unless by some quirk of fate that Wilkins name suddenly comes into the frame. Roy Keane would certainly bring a presence to the club and I have no doubt he can motivate the Irish lads but has he got the experience we need??? starch an has done nothing for me that is worth shouting about regardless of his name within the game. Wolves say they want Prem Experience so unless they are gonna rip someone away from another club, I for one am running out of ideas. I still think the presence of Sounness for 13 games may be worth a go but not for a long term push. Which ever way we go, we must get behind the new Man regardless of our personal opinions. Now is the time that we must all unite and be that 12th man required to get us out of this dire situation. We are Wolves and we should be one!!!!!!
Rustmonkey
Remove starch and replace Strachan.........I hate predictive text. Blah

While I rated Souness as a player, I dislike him as a human being. He had an ugly, vindictive side to his character and he regularly displayed it as a player and as a manager. He's exactly the kind of person we don't want in charge of our team at the moment. It looks like a two horse race between Curbishley and Bruce and I am a little worried that the latter candidate is making progress. Apart from his failure at Sunderland, he might bring his own misfiring team. Curbs, on the other hand, has been out of the game for a few years and might look around for an available coaching team. Hey presto, Wilkins and Co. might materialise and that would be great. Incidentally, if a point in his favour is a tenuous link to Robert Plant, I ought to be considered for the post. Years ago, when I was teaching at Wolverhampton G.S., I took a group of sixth-formers on a History trip to a north Worcestershire parish, where the school used to have a large estate. One of the farms we visited was owned by John Bonham, Led Zeppelin's drummer ... spooky, or what? Should I tell Jez of the connexion?
Southbank60
I assume you didn't get to meet JB has I suspect he would have been recovering from a heavy session? Maybe that side of Sounness is what the players need......I wouldn't see him as a long termer......purely a firefighter. Rumours abound that Curbs has turned us down............ That makes you wonder what was actually offered. I have a nagging suspicion that Bruce will get the job.......pffffffttt
Rustmonkey
You're right, Rustmonkey, I didn't. On the other point, I hope that Jez is not buggering about again.
