Well, at least there is one candidate that didn't turn us down, but perhaps if Brighton hadn't rejected our approach he might have done too.
Reports in the press have revealed that at some stage, Alan Curbishley (twice), Steve Bruce and Walter Smith have all apparently turned down offers to take the managerial position at Molineux, left vacant by the sacking of Mick McCarthy.
Neil Warnock and Brian McDermott were also interviewed for the role, but Warnock decided to take the Leeds job and McDermott signed a new contract with Reading.
It seems that if we are to believe everything in the press, between Steve Morgan and Jez Morgan at least FIVE people have been offered the job and that doesn't include Brighton boss Gus Poyet because his club rejected our approach before he had a chance too!
"There was an approach but it came and went. I didn`t have any decision to make, anything to think about.
"I was not involved at all. It was not difficult for me, I was not involved at any time." Poyet told the Express & Star.
Poyet went on to say that of course he eventually wants to manage in the Premier League, just like every player aspires to play at the highest level, but at the same time he would also like to achieve that with Brighton over the next few years.
He continued: "I`m very lucky where I am. I can get the players for the style I play, I can get involved in the new academy and part of the building of the new training ground.
"I`m saying I`m not in a hurry, I signed a long-term contract because I want to be here."
