'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fighting spirit is there says Stears

For anyone watching the Fulham game, one of the most worrying signs of the game was the fact that we virtually waved the white flag and surrendered at the end.

Three goals were conceded in the final half an hour, with players still happy to sit in rigid line formations, but without the nous to go and actually win the ball.

Instead we were left watching shadows as the side was torn apart.

It was a similar story to the Albion game, where four goals were conceded in the final 30 minutes. Although this latest defeat was obviously far less embarrassing.

Sandwiched in the middle of two heavy defeats was the comeback against Newcastle and the faint glimmer of hope, is what Richard Stearman is clinging on to in his search for a light at the end of the tunnel.

'As people saw last week at Newcastle, we came back from 2-0 down to earn a point and we`re top of the league for claiming points after going behind, so the spirit is there," Stearman told Express & Star.

He added: "Sunday was just a bad day and we`ve got to look to put things right against Blackburn."

I have read reams of 'whistling in the dark' quotes from players and management with very little evidence that they have or are taking positive steps to convert words into actions.

SB60 if we are to get out of this mess we need to do one of two things one stop playing Stearman and Berra as CD BECAUSE THEY ARE USELESS. Two we have to play S Fletcher even if we have to carry him on the pitch and ill put a third one in get J Ohara some help in midfield some one who will tackle but also be able to pass a ball as well because thats what were lacking. Plus some leadership on the pitch as well as off it not the nonsense that TC came out with i thought we did all right till they scored. What game was he watching because after that comment it was not the one i was watching we were useless in all departments and if that is what he thinks we are in serious trouble hopefully god will be smileing on us on sat but i wont hold my breath.

KW: the problem is who do we have left who can tackle as well as pass the ball and thereby help JOH out in midfield? Who did we ever have for that matter ... apart, briefly, for Frimpong? We have to have Bassong and Craddock in central defence on Saturday and then we can play RJ alongside them. I only realised how bad our CDs were on Sunday when I watched the recording on TV.

He talks more sense than Stearman and he probably would be a better player. After all, he's got four legs, whereas most of our players have two left feet ... unless they're left-footed of course in which case they have two right ones.

SB60 as i have said we would have been better of if them pair were sitting in the stands beside you.

Fighting Spirit is there ? Yeah problem is, so are you Stears... and those wads mick mccarthy called defenders johnson, berra elokobi ... not sure why i still bother, find it impossible not to watch my beloved team, and still looking to a game in... sorry sap i am. if only i could direct the ticket price away from fat moxeys chicken fatted hands, to a charity, organisation or homeless person... i'd really like to give that fat * * * * a little piece of my mind and large section of my boot.

Alright, how about we start hypothsising the ABSOLUTE BULL, the WWFC pr machine will excrete at the end of the season when we go down ?? I would really like us to compare and contrast, publicly, their opening gambits - a la mid table aspirations, massive new stadium, record profits - with their excuses as to how we finished STONE LAST, got relegated and have halted all stadium devs... Damn, thats gonna be some good spin, I hope they are hiring new copywriters from Thames Water... actually they are not very good at the hiring thing either... Wa kers

Lol cheeky sod Crete. I might have him write the match report Saturday as a quick bark might spare any of the rest of us having to write it. How can you talk about team spirit when you have been humiliated by Albion and 'slapped silly' by the mighty Fulham. We did always have that spirit, it proved our saving grace but even that has gone. The whole lot have lost the plot and you can't really blame em that much considering what they are turning up to every day. There is little to say really because I am bored *****less of reading these nonsense comments and everything variable points to another defeat Saturday. The writing was on the wall a long time ago, shame the club never saw it coming because I am sinking to a resigned state similarly, that they've *****ed it up and there is very little Terry or anyone else is going to do about it between now and a probable relegation.

Doggone it, Yorkie, are you trying to hound me out of a job ... and, the mutt might be biased, especially if he is called Rover. I've dried out my notebook and am set to report on the biggest match in our current stint in the PL. It's far more than a six-pointer. It will decide our fate.
