Future for Wolves? Karl Henry

Future for Wolves? Karl Henry

With Jez Moxey stating previously that Wolves wouldn`t be 'forced` into selling any of their star players I thought I`d have a punt on who`s likely to be leaving Molineux this summer.

Keep in mind none of us really know the politics and finances of what`s going on inside of Molineux at the moment but let us know whether you agree or disagree in the comments below.

Karl Henry

The Ashmore Park born 29-year-old continues to divide opinion on the terraces but on the pitch it became clear how integral Henry is to the heart of Wolves midfield following his suspension and hamstring injury in the second half of the season.

With only one year remaining on his contract the local lad has already been reportedly been drawing attention from Martin O`Neill and Roy Hodgson and a summer move isn`t out of the question.

The decision could largely lie with Henry himself.

Would he like to stay in the Premier League playing a rotation role at a slightly bigger club?

Or is his heart committed to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the rest of his career?

We shouldn`t forget the midfielder was demoted as club captain at the beginning of the season and taunted by a section of the Molineux crowd during his substitution against Newcastle this season.

It will be interesting to see how much interest there is in him. I think it's generally agreed that giving the armband to the walking attitude problem that is Roger Johnson, was the biggest mistake of Mick's last season with us. I don't think we can over estimate just what damage that did to the dressing room, but if only part of the rumours are true, it may well have got us relegated. The irony of that, of course, is that KH was the first name on the teamsheet; "Karl and ten others", Mick said. To humiliate him in the way that he then did, was nothing short of a betrayal of that former loyalty and devastating to our season. If he goes, it'll most likely be in reaction to the stick he gets, rather than a desire to leave for leaving's sake.

Karl divides fans opinion but personally I think he is WWFC through and through. Give him the armband back.

I don't think that Karl will go but I do agree that making RJ captain, was a kick in the goolies for him and he is entitled to feel feel sore (pun intended). He's fine as an enforcer but he can't distribute the ball for toffee and is a liability with his dithering on the ball. If AG has progressed and has lost his puppyish behaviour, he might be a better option. And, there's DD of course, though I prefer a pint of Banks's Best Bitter.
