'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No idea who he is says Zubar

Our current poll on Vital Wolves asks: Is Ståle Solbakken the right boss for Wolves?

Currently 33% have no idea and 11% have said who???

If Roger Johnson or Ronald Zubar have been online today they could well be part of those included in the 11% as both defenders have admitted that they have not heard of the new gaffer.

'I am not too sure. I don`t know who the guy is to be honest.

'It is out of the blue. We`ll see what happens.' Johnson told Sky Sports News, while Ronald Zubar added: 'Seriously, I don`t know who he is but I will know today for sure.'

Vital Wolves Comment: When a new manager comes in one of the most over used phrases is 'a clean slate', well when the players haven't heard of the new boss and the new boss knows little about the players, surely that's the definition of a 'clean slate'.

We must have some really knowledgeable users on Vital Wolves as 45% believe he's the right man for the job, while the players have never heard of him!

who honestly gives a damn what rj thinks ? were they doing the interviews down the lion ? akela, this is a big leap into the unknown, but still a refreshing bit of news after what has been a couple months of train wrecks. lets give him a go - i dont think too many of us are bothered playing in the championship as long as we look to be giving it a real go. 2, 3 years in the champs, fine by me as long as it looks like the club is moving forward. more kightly's and less johnsons please !! UTW!

I've no idea if he is the right man for the job but looking at his pedigree and things being said on Sky, we could do a lot worse. I actually think its great that the players don't know him....will put them right on the back foot. Seeing him getting stuck right in the face of Pepe Guardiola makes me think that he's a man not to be *****ed with.....just what we need now. Someone to shake things up. German and Norwegian pundits only have good words to say about him. Going to Koln was his only mistake because apparently they were in absolute turmoil and sold all his best players from under him. He was their 25 th manager in 25 years which speaks volumes. I actually have quite a good feeling about this especially if he brings his assistant with him.

Couldnt agree more RM. I have a good feeling about this too. I am sure he has never heard of RJ or RZ and in the case of the former will soon relaise he is a waster and get rid!!

I suspect we will get a few never before heard of names over the next few months. Stale will use his knowledge of the European leagues to buy from. As long as its a Podolski and not a Brolin.....all good with me. And yes.....I know we have no chance of getting Podolski but that type of player will do nicely.
Rustmonkey
RM i agree will get some players never heard of but my worry is TC is still going to be there giveing his opinions which will pobabley mean the whole back four will stay the same.TC is the same as Mick who had his favorites so has he like Stearman never missed a minute on the pitch since he took over and the guy is useless. Never heard of the guy but things can not get any worse who ever took over from TC nice guy but not management material.
kiawolves
Kiawolves's point is one which worries me. SS might be making the strategic decisions but will TC be the one who does the actual day-to-day coaching?
Southbank60
Apparently SS has a very fixed idea of how to set his teams up. He likes zonal play in a 442 formation. I think you'll find he is very much his own man with his own ideas. TC won't be coach for long because SS has an assistant who has followed him from club to club. TC may be used for an initial bedding in period to show continuity but I believe SS will be firmly in control of the reigns.

With the initials 'SS' one would expect him to have a forceful personality.

Roger Johnson says he's never heard of Stale Solbakken but said he'll drink anything if its cheap
Crete Wolf
Ha! Ha! I shouldn't laugh though, Crete Wolf, as it's probably true.
Southbank60
RJ did not even bother to check on the pronunciation of the first name then. Had he done so he would have found out that the 'a' in Stale is practically a closed 'o'. The numerous forwards that have 'stole by' him should remind of this.
