'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Club Rewards The Travelling Faithful

In a rare gesture of thanks, Wolverhampton Wanderers are offering free tickets to eth 700 fans who gave up their free time to stand in torrential rain at Saltergate, only to see Wolves crash out of the League Cup on Penalties.

Announcing the offer on the club's official website CEO Jez Moxey said :

'We took over 700 fans with us to Chesterfield for the Carling Cup match on Tuesday and many of them were stood on open terracing without any protection from the terrible weather conditions,'

'We want to thank them for their loyalty in such circumstances, and so the Board has decided to offer all supporters who stood on the terracing in the pouring rain on what was a very long and disappointing evening, a free ticket to attend the Derby match at Molineux. The Board understands that many of those fans will be season ticket holders but, nevertheless, this offer will give them an opportunity to invite a family member or friend to the match on us.'

It's often said that football club's do little to show their appreciation of the commitment involved in following the team around the country.

So it's refreshing to see the Board put their money where their mouth is, and show a little recognition for what those that went to Saltergate endured.

Good work travelling fellah's , and good work the Board!
