Sigurdarson deal takes a twist

The £2.4million transfer of Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson from Lillestrom to Wolves has been agreed.

However the 21-year-old Iceland striker will not join Wolves until next month.

During that period the Norwegian league is still in full swing and he will be expected to play in a further four games for his current side, much to the dismay of the player and his representatives.

Sigurdarson took to Twitter to show his frustration, penning: "Just had a meeting with the board. Forcing me to stay!"

If the striker picks up an injury during his final four games in Norway Sigurdarson representative Jerry de Koning has revealed that the transfer will be cancelled.

'He was sold to Wolverhampton for three million euros, but if he is injured during the games he will play in Norway, he will not be offered a contract.' He told talkSPORT

He continued: 'Therefore, he will play under a great risk. I think that everyone understands that Björn is in a very difficult situation.'

Vital Wolves Comment: Competitive football in Norway will probably do him some good so I'm not overly bothered in the short term.

Not when he currently holds a record of scoring seven goals in 11 games for Lillestrom so far this season, lets keep that form going so he can hit the ground running in August!

He's going to need a break at some stage though, which will be a problem during the second half of the season.

I worry that BBS has just made himself the target for Norway's equivalents of Liverpool's Tommy Smith.

An exciting prospect - I cant wait to see him eventually sign for us.

My concerns also. Plenty of attention on him now so no doubt a few will be out to give him a kick before he leaves. Fingers crossed he finishes the season well and turns up raring to go.

He will join us after Jul 13th. lillestrom have confirmed on their website that a price has been agreed. Just down to personal terms now.

So who's leaving, then?

Presumably, it will be Fletcher. Of course, the news that we already have a replacement for him, will weaken our bargaining position because it tells other clubs that we want to move him on. Conversely, we could sell Doyle and deploy BBS and SF as joint strikers in a 4-4-2 formation. I suppose it depends on SF's attitude and the money offered for him but primarily the former. In any event, Fletcher will not go before mid-July when a FIT BBS arrives at Molineux. I'll cross my fingers in the meantime.
