Stoke & Southampton set to bid for Jarvis

As expected following West Ham dipping their toe in the water, the bidding for Wolves star Matt Jarvis is about to begin.

Since our relegation to the Championship was confirmed the rumour mill has been in full swing in regards to Matt Jarvis.

Southampton, Everton, Fulham, Newcastle, Sunderland, Tottenham, Stoke, West Ham, Reading and Italian side Udinese have all been linked in the media at some stage since the end of last season.

Premier League new boys West Ham United were the first club to make their move with a £4million bid, which was rejected according to a report from Sky Sports.

The bid believed to be in the region of £4million was the price that has been most commonly quoted by the media despite many Wolves fans believing he is worth twice that figure.

But as expected, that initial bid now looks set to spark an auction, with the Daily Star reporting that both Stoke and Southampton are set to make their interest official with £6million offers.

The fee is already slowly rising, but just how high will it go?

With Jarvis under contract until 2015 at least we are in a strong negotiating position and unlike other recent relegated Premier League clubs our finances shouldn't prompt a quick fire sale.

Which means we can get the most out of this deal financially, if of course we do want to sell and Jarvis does indeed want to leave.
