Nouble happy with Wolves move

Wolverhampton Wanderers completed the signing of 20-year-old striker Frank Nouble from West Ham United this morning on a two-year-deal.

The striker had recently been released by West Ham following their promotion to the Premier League and he looked more likely to join either League One side Coventry or Oxford in League Two until Ståle Solbakken made a move to make him his second signing of the summer.

Solbakken revealed that the Wolves scouts had been watching Nouble this season and believe that he has the potential to succeed at Molineux.

Whether they watched him while playing for West Ham, Gillingham or Barnsley last season is uncertain but Nouble is looking forward to the new challenge and settling at one club.

'When Wolves came along I was delighted and I'm more happy than surprised about the move, I don't know too much about Ståle but I'm looking forward to meeting him face to face. For every player, whenever there is a new manager it is a new challenge and I think that's something we are all looking forward to.'Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'I think all of my loan moves have been about me being eager to play and not wanting to rest on my laurels. Hopefully I can find a home here whereby I can work hard and with the players that we've got here I'm sure I can learn a lot.

'I don't know any of the senior players but I'm looking forward to making some new friends. I know that there's a lot of banter that flies about so I'm sure that I can settle in well.'

he was supposed to be the next dorgba - so my hammers mate tells me... they changed their opinion - this is starting to look a little clumsy. how about getting rid of our dross first... stearman berra elokobi the two johnsons... hunt ohara ... before taking ona afleet of unknowns ourselves. grumble grumble.

Nice to have a good crop of young strikers though....always gives you the option to shake things up a bit.

Dont understand this signing if we are trying to keep SF and KD plus the new signing Sigurdarson and with Vokes and Ebanks does not make sense. Plus if he was going to go to a league one or two team he must be really good just what we need another championship player no better than what we have.He wasnt good enough for WH and they let him go for nothing i thought the club had said their was a pot of money to spend we are now down scraping for the also rans never mind the basin bargains surely things have to get better.

We have signed a 18 yr old defender from Walsall too. I suspect TC has been given the reserve team coach role and is building a team for the season.

I reckon SS is bringing a new No2 back with him and Connor has been given the reserves to play with. Neither of these guys will be in the first team shake up this season. No way SS has hand picked these guys.

kiawolves- I hate to break it to you but the chances of us keeping either Fletch and Doyle are remote, to put it mildly. The chances of us keeping them both are non-existent. BBS is obviously destined for the first team, this kid is obviously destined for the reserves. BBS has a record and cost us millions, this kid hasn't and didn't. At 6:3 you'd expect him to have some value as a battering ram up front, if nothing else. His scoring record is appaling, so let's see if we can polish a turd and get some use out of him;if not, he cost us nothing. However, should he turn out to be a complete cart 'oss with attitude or work-rate 'issues', i'd hope someone would be held accountable for his joining us. Which brings me on-to the question of who did... I agree with Rustmonkey, it couldn't have been SS's idea, he's quoted as saying our scouts have been watching him for sometime. It would seem the new manager hasn't insisted on total control of the playing side, then.

The photo of him on here... he looks a bit like Rajon Rondo, who plays PG for the Boston Celtics. I've heard of RR, though, and I know Jez is a basketball fan...

Ah well chaps it is hardly one to dance about it is but I think the most sensible things I have read on here is that Connor has been relegated to running the reserves. I have maintained for some time that he is doing 'something' for someone considering how long he has been at the club and crying his way through the last 13 games did not impress either. If that clown was running my Sunday pub team I would go and play for someone else. Has SS been told the clown has to be kept on the books? If he has the reserves and nothing else it is better than nothing although with preference I wish he had nothing to do with our club anymore. Sure Mick's commentary genius will land him a job once the EC is over so fingers crossed he comes back and takes him away from us.
