Wolves make second signing of the day

After a quiet week, Friday has turned out to be a busy day for Wolverhampton Wanderers with the announcement of a second signing.

This morning Wolves announced the signing of Frank Nouble on a free transfer from West Ham.

The 20 year old does have some experience of the Football League, but it is clear that the signing has been made with the longer term future in mind.

The second signing of the day also falls into that category with 18-year-old defender Jamie Tank signing for from Walsall.

He has just completed his two-year Scholarship at Walsall and was offered a professional contract, but instead has decided to join up with Steve Weaver's development squad for an undisclosed compensation payment.

'It's a great feeling joining Wolves. I didn't expect it and when I first heard of the proposed move it was completely out of the blue.' he told Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'Now that I've signed, I just can't wait to meet up with the lads and to get started with pre-season training.'

Over the years we have had some great signings from Walsall - Bert Williams, Johnny Hancocks and Dennis Wilshaw spring to mind so if he turns out be a goodun a lot of fans will be thankfull to JM &SS signing him.
And when do you imagine SS saw him play? Still in denial about what's going on? Two players have been signed, that CLEARLY had nothing whatsoever to do with the new manager. Your suggestion that they are his signings is ridiculous. And if he turns out to be a pile of s**t, I suppose anybody that points that out isn't really a Wolves fan? Two players have been signed for the reserves and our manager hasn't a clue who either of them are. Well, Rustmonkey, you seem to have got your wish for a DoF.
Well...let's not condemn the signings just yet. The poor lads haven't even titghened up their boots for us yet. If they are for the future then so be it. I'm sure MM didn't have direct input into all the youth teams when he was here. If Connor has been given a new job away from the first team then surely that's a good thing.
***** TC> I have not time for him. I think he is a moron who played more than a big hand in our relegation so he can go and ***** off tomorrow for all I care. Movement suggests he will end up crying to the reserves every week so that's a good move for the foundation isn't it. As written elsewhere, hopefully Mick will land a new job soon and he will come and pick him up. Sooner the better. As for the new players wish them all the best.

I am looking forward to this new season. Did not imagine saying that a couple of months ago but I think, just like Mick changed the fabric of the club 5 1/2 years ago new bloke will do the same. Looking forward to it.

Who's condemning the signings? Clearly, no-one has. I doubt anybody would moan if we signed Messi, either. Is it because we're expected to have complained about these signings, that a conversation has begun as if we had? Let's not jump a stage, here. Rather than advising we wait 'til they've laced their boots before we have a go at them, let's wait 'til someone looks to criticise them, without having seen them play, before we respond to someone criticising them.
I would rather sign unknowns for the future than going back to our old policy of signing big name crap... Anderton, Paul Stewart, Steve Claridge and that other bald bloke form West Ham that then retired from football at the end of the season after playing in the FA cup semi-final.....

Easy was a generalisation based on comments off other threads and forums. Wasn't meant specifically at you Just because it followed your piece unlike the DoF dig which I guess was directed straight at me. I stand by that comment too...we should have a DoF. Let SS worry about the first team and let a DoF worry about scouts, reserves, academies etc.
I think we are building up to the sale of Fletcher, though I would really like to see him playing in tandem with BBS. Perhaps it will happen if he wants to stay. I have no opinion on the two youngsters as I know nothing about them.I doubt they will see much first team action next season. I would like to see some real movement on replacements for our back four though and hope that Batth can make the grade.
Well I think the arrival of SS presents our best shot at a proper clean slate; if we had got in someone like Bruce he is still going to know this player and that and have his favourites just like the last one. He is a making all the right noises so far- everyone has a chance, although I would say watching those DVD's have helped him make up his mind on one or two to say the least! Let's hope the youngsters are included next to the seniors when they start training because I would say there is a good chance the likes of Bath, just involved in a very successful season might just get his chance ahead of the likes of Stearman.

I have to say, y'all have taken the news that TC is signing players: 1) a whole lot better than I have, and 2) a whole lot better than I thought you would have. Let's hear no more about 'brooms' and 'sweeping' though. Sound fair enough? Very little changed in the end.We didn't have a FIRST TEAM manager and now we have. Everything else? As we were.
