Mancienne to make Molineux return?

Could Michael Mancienne return to Molineux for a fourth spell at Wolves?

The versatile former England Under-21 man was a big hit at Wolves during three previous loan spells from Chelsea, but made the move to Germany last year, thanks in part to Hamburg`s sporting director Frank Arnesen.

Arnesen was previously at Chelsea while the centre back cum midfielder was also coming through the youth ranks there and he instigated the £1.75 million.

After taking a while to settle into life in the German Bundesliga, reports suggest that towards the end of the season he did impress and Hamburg are not looking to offload him.

Overall in during his first season in Germany he made 16 appearances.

So why would a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers be a possibility?

His current side do not want to sell, after spending a year in Germany presumably he is now settled and of course Mick McCarthy the manager who signed him three times on loan has left the club.

So surely this is just a newspaper rumour? Well the Sunday Mercury appear to be pretty convinced that there is at least interest on our part.

They have reported that Wolves gaffer Ståle Solbakken has spoken with Arnesen over the 24-year-old's current availability.

They believe that Wolves are looking for replacements for Christophe Berra and Roger Johnson who could be set to leave Molineux.

Vital Wolves Comment: It is likely that Christophe Berra and Roger Johnson will leave Wolves, but that doesn't mean Hamburg are willing to sell, or that Mancienne would quit Germany for the Championship.
