Mancienne wants to stay with Hamburg

In the age of the internet, news travels fast and news of Wolves apparent interest in Michael Mancienne soon spread to Germany yesterday.

Mancienne had been linked with a return to Molineux for a fourth spell with Wolves by the Sunday Mercury who appeared to be pretty convinced that there was interest on our part, they reported that Wolves gaffer Ståle Solbakken had spoken with Hamburg`s sporting director Frank Arnesen over the 24-year-old's current availability with Wolves actively looking for replacements for Christophe Berra and Roger Johnson who are likely to leave Molineux.

Now we wondered why we would be interested in the versatile former England Under-21 man as it was clear his current side did not want to sell, the fact that Mick McCarthy was the manager who signed him three times on loan is no longer at the club, so that links gone and of course, after spending a year in Germany presumably he is now settled? Well that appears to be the case and he does indeed want to stay in the German Bundesliga.

Asked about the transfer link by the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper, he said: 'It's the first time that I am becoming aware of this, I have a contract with Hamburger SV and I really want to stay on at Hamburger SV - definitely.'

Vital Wolves Comment: Sounds pretty final to me................next rumour please??
