Wolves Bites - 16th July

It's that time again when we roll out our 'Wolves Bites' articles, bringing you the news around Molineux in a handy bite size chunk!

* Wolves youngster Sam Vokes remains a target for fellow Championship side Burnley. Their gaffer Eddie Howe took him on loan last year after previously working with him at Bournemouth.

With 12 months remaining on his contract it is unclear what his future holds at Wolves, but one indication could be whether or not he is included in the upcoming Ireland tour.

* Arsenal midfielder and former Wolves loanee Emmanuel Frimpong is the latest player to have got himself into hot water by using social networking site Twitter.

Over the weekend Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand got into trouble using a word he thought of us slang, while others thought it was a racist term.

Frimpong has got himself into a similar problem getting into an exchange with a Tottenham fan who had messaged him 'I prayed you break your arms and legs', Frimpong responded with the message: '@ Scum Y**' before removing it.

The term 'Y**' or 'Y***o' has been a term connected with Tottenham for generations and its use has often sparked fierce debate.

* Sunderland and Stoke appear to have stepped up their interest in Steven Fletcher sparking a number of articles across the media over the weekend.

* On Friday former Wanderers bosses Mick McCarthy and Glenn Hoddle were both linked with the Nottingham Forest job.

The two remain the heavy favourites with the role with McCarthy as short as 1/12 with Ladbrokes, while Hoddle is 5/1.

I think McCarthy will definitely get the Forest job. I can't think of anyone with better experience than him - and that is what they are after. Forest have also today confirmed they have held talks with him. I think we should move Vokes on before he walks for free next year.

The next job he had was always most likely to be in the championship. In common with Warnock and Holloway, he's capable of competing at that level but you couldn't make one PL manager if you put the three of them together. It will be interesting to see how highly he rates those defenders he signed for us (which is all of them except Jody) and whether or not he'll offer TC his right-hand-man post.It would be rather off of him to consider them good enough for us but not his new club.
