Cash is king

The probable departures of Steven Fletcher and Sam Vokes is set to see various lumps of cash head off in different directions due to sell-on clauses in the Wolves duos deals.

When Fletcher departs Molineux, part of the fee that Wolves receive will be handed over to Fletcher's former club Burnley as part of the deal that brought him to Wolves following their relegation from the Premier League.

They could then use a lump of that money to hand straight back to us to buy young striker Sam Vokes.

With another year left on the Wales internationals contract, he could make the move to Burnley for a fee of around £500,000 with a nominal amount of that then heading off south to Vokes's former club Bournemouth.

The only gaps that need filling are just where and when the two strikers will leave? Steven Fletcher has been linked with Sunderland all summer but a move has not yet been made.

Whilst if Burnley are relying on receiving the cash from the Fletcher deal to make a move for Vokes, they could be beaten to the punch by Brighton who are also interested.

What is clear though is that Ståle Solbakken has started preparing for life without the pair as Björn Sigurdarson has now joined up with the Wolves squad for the pre-season tour of Ireland.

The 21-year-old Icelandic striker officially agreed his four-year deal this week after completing his transfer from Norwegian side Lillestrom.

IF Fletch is to leave I think it will be a panic buy at the end of the transfer window. A £15m price tag will put most teams off. Stoke love a last minute overspend!

Also, I thought Burnley had the millions from Southampton for Jay Rodriguez to spend?

I have not seen a bid come in for either so this just adds to the speculation we see plonked in the papers every day.
