Berra transfer listed

Joining Adam Hammill on the Wolves transfer list is defender Christophe Berra.

The Scotland international handed in a transfer request last week and Wolves gaffer Ståle Solbakken has accepted the 27-year-old centre-back's request.

'Given his contract situation with only 12 months remaining, the club has reluctantly agreed to make him available,' said boss Stale Solbakken to the BBC.

He added: 'Christophe has one year of his contract remaining and, after talks, has decided that he wishes to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.

'Christophe will continue to work with the first-team squad and be available for selection while the club await an offer.'

Since making the move to Molineux from Scotland in February 2009 for a fee of around £2.3m he has made 122 appearances.

any idea if the news Kightly has signed for Stoke is true? Really struggling with this one. As for Berra, who cares, we never noticed him on the pitch anyways... Will be sad to see Hammil go though, whoever gets him is getting a very good player indeed.

Heard on the grapevine Kightly wants premier league football , and wanted to leave , personally I think He's shown little loyalty with this after all the help the club has given him , I hope Stoke get the same Injury pile up we got with him and our replacement which is being lined up is twice the player , and if he wants to go and only has one year left we was never going to get the 5m he is worth so 3m is a good deal considering his injury problems !

So, let's sit back and wait for the offers to come flooding in.As the back-bone of the most embarrassingly out of it's depth defence the PL has ever seen, i'm guessing any move he makes from Wolves will be, at best, sideways, probably downwards, or even worse;Scotland. I wonder how many enquiries we've received for Stearman and Ward, an' all.

Berra transfer yes, yes ,yes please take Stearman with you pretty please, my first game was in 1970 at the age ot 10 and its my 42nd + season and this recent excuse for a defence is the worst I have ever seen we even take a defender like Johnson who everyone was excited about and turn him into a shower like the rest of them and that defence built by a manager who was a defender the mind boggles, I would keep Johnson as something must have gone wrong and you do not become a bad defender as quick as he did without a reason the pluses seem to be the impending inclusion of some of our kids and hopefully some good additions to the squad or are they replacements for Kightly,Jarvis and Fletcher?

Wont be sorry to see Berra go. When he signed I hoped he would follow in the footsteps of Frank Munro and be a great Scottish centre back for Wolves. Alas no - not fit to wipe the mud of the late great mans shoes. RIP Frank - good ridence Berra!
