'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jarvis will continue to play

Matt Jarvis did not refuse to play for Wolves on Saturday as some rumours have suggested.

It was of course a logical conclusion to come to, especially in the cynical world of football, but apparently while Matt Jarvis's career is currently up in the air, he has not refused to play for Wolverhampton Wanderers again.

The midfielder has been linked with a number of moves over the summer, with heavy links with a possible move to West Ham United.

On Saturday it was made clear that he did want to leave Molineux and all of a sudden he was no longer part of the squad that faced Aldershot in the Capital One Cup first-round tie.

However according to the gaffer that was merely a coincidence.

"Matt was sick and it wasn`t the best day for that to happen with all the speculation, The doctor saw him and Matt was vomiting. That`s true and you can believe it or not. He was fine after training and was looking forward to the game.' Wolves boss Ståle Solbakken told the Express & Star.

He continued: "I read the team out after training and he was in it and there was no reaction then."

"He wants to leave - he`s said that. If it`s right for Wolves, for me and for him then we`ll see. But he`ll still play for us if he`s here."

Vital Wolves Comment: We are certainly driving a hard bargain for Matt Jarvis. There is absolutely no chance it would seem that we will be letting him leave on the cheap.

Friday's offer from West Ham was reportedly £6million plus £3million of add-ons and that was rejected, so we will have to assume that a bid of over £10million will be required to get him out of Molineux.

Your move West Ham.

Just go now, let us move on. If you dont want to play for us, we dont want you to play for us!!
gregory house
yeah, if only it was as easy as that Gregory, I wouldnt put it past moxey and morgan to clown this transfer up too... holding out for 1 or 2 extra million, at the risk of having 2 major players stay on at the club will be a mistake. No surprise that the word Mistake starts with the same letter as Morgan and Moxey. I have no faith in either of them. They are clowns, and they will clown this up for us. I would also have liked to see the back of Fletch and Jarvis by now, but the penny pinching nature of the 2ms could well see us the laughing stock we were 3 short months ago.
AdMant
Admant totally disagree if it were not for Morgan and Moxey we would be the same as every other club which has been relegated needing to sell to survive. We do not and as Moxey has stated to all and sundry these players are not for sale unless their true valuation is met which Wolves have a right to do if other clubs disagree then dont try to sign them.if we have to unhappy players so be it but they have been told your going no where unless we get the money we want. If Henderson is worth twenty mill and Downing worth Seventeen then it is right Wolves get the best price for our best players if we are to let them go OR IN YOUR OPINION JUST SELL THEM FOR A COUPLE OF QUID BECAUSE THEY ASKED TO LEAVE then the club would be in *****.A nd if the truth be known only one person is to blame for this that was Mcarthy if he had bought some PL players in stead of relying on championship players who he kept saying there going to get better how wrong was he.We would now not be in this position if Morgan and Moxey did anything wrong it was to keep Merlin in the job for so long.

F*Mcarth - he *****ed it ip. Now the new bloke has to start with this ***** in the backround<
New York City Wolf
Hang on, guys, while I have criticized MM for his handling of the team, the board has to share the blame too. We are solvent and we do have millions of pounds of assets. We could have afforded to spend more on shoring up our wonky defence without going into receivership, even without factoring in all the perks that goes with membership in the PL. And, what about the millions spent on ground improvements without allocating sufficient funds to build a team capable of playing in the PL. Is there a subtext here, one that does not prioritize events on the pitch. I have said all this before but it's happening again. We play Leeds in the opening match of the new season in a couple of days time and we are going to do so with a demoralized team, the same shamboloic defence and with unreliable players. While I am in favour of getting the best possible fee for our players, we have to look at the wider picture. At the moment we need the money to buy defenders. I reckon we could buy them anyway but if JM will not do that with money from sales, sell SF and MJ. Do it now!
Southbank60
Southbank60 he will do that its just trying to get the players to come last season in the Jan transfer window everyone was told their was money to spend. Who did Merlin sign some unknown from Hearts who never got a game then we got Bassong on the last day even then Merlin was convinced the defence was good enough. We have the money but as i said before i think Morgan did not trust Merlin any longer and not long after sacked him. Then you have to take in to account its easy to add new players but what about all the players we need to get rid of will anyone want to buy them or are we stuck with an over inflated squad because we can not get rid of the crap that Merlin bought.
kiawolves
Good comments Kiawolves,Merlin as you call him should have gone when we finished 4th from bottom it was obvious then he was out of his depth, look at the players he bought and never played because he wouldnt drop his blue eyed boys, the board gave him the funds and he blew them, would you trust him with your money, he created this mess, that dressing room was screwed up,certain players like Henry,Edwards get injured but got straight back in the team and remember Fletcher was warming the bench when Merlins son played up front i mean 7 million for a striker and you play Ward up front for Petes sake, I would sell them soon as because we do not want to start a season with players who want to go, just imagine if they are still here and play the next few games, we win well and then sell them leaving other players to take over, get rid and buy well Stale knows our defence is crap that is why he is after defenders we will be ok have faith because all this negativity helps no one
