Bolanos plays down Wolves link

28-year-old Costa Rica international Christian Bolanos has played down rumours linking him with a transfer to Wolves.

The Copenhagen winger was previously signed by Ståle Solbakken while the now Wolves gaffer was in charge of the club.

Some suggest he could be the ideal replacement for Matt Jarvis once he completes his anticipated move to West Ham.

Asked about the link following his sides UEFA Champions League qualifier win over Lille he told tipsbladet.dk: 'That is how football works and of course I have ambitions.'

He continued: 'Right now I am playing for Copenhagen so I try to focus on my work here, as that is my top priority.

'But you never know in football when the right offer comes in.

'I have two years left on my contract here but I do have ambitions.'

Vital Wolves Comment: I have to admit I've never heard of him, but it doesn't surprise me that Ståle Solbakken is going to turn to players who has worked with before.

Jarvo and Fletch both doing medicals today - should net us over 20 mil once Burnley have been paid. What odds half of that gets pumped back into the squad ?/ Yes, Rustmonkey, I am having a go at jez moxey again.

Half of it is better than none. It's unrealistic to think that all of it will because they still need to balance books and keep contingency money for January. If you think that Jez holds all the cards reference the money then that's your right but I personally think your missing the bigger picture....he's the MIDDLE man. He gets given a budget and works with the manager to get the best deals. I think Jez has worked miracles to get the money for Fletch & Jarvo because personally I don't think either of them were worth the asking prices but that's my opinion.
Rustmonkey
I'm not Jez's biggest fan but he has done well when it comes to deal making.
Rustmonkey
You are right, he has done well recouping so much for our ex-players, Im just frustrated that the defence is still such a shambles... come on WWFC the season has started already, lets get em in !!!

Problem is we don't know who SS has identified for that role and at what stage they are in negotiations, if at all. I too want a CB & LB but we need to wait and see.

Everyone knew that we needed a CD and LB at the end of last season and we could have done deals at that time. We had the money and the security of saleable assets. Now that we are looking to fill those positions, we find ourselves in a shrinking market, with limited amount of time available and forced to negotiate with clubs who are aware that we are awash with cash.

have a look at Bolanos on youtube, looks a decent player, the other player mentioned today is Man Utds Robbie Brady who is a left winger, but fergie was looking at him playing at left back! Player of the year....Jez Moxey for getting the money he has done for two over priced players. Next to go could be Doyle and Wardy - Everton maybe!

Can't see that being a big issue SB. I suspect that any newcomers will come from Europe.
Rustmonkey
I hope they do come from Europe, Rustmonkey. If so, they will be players whom SS knows about and rates, which is not necessarily the case with any home-grown player suggested to him. It's not as though he has much time to assess the quality of those unknown to him. We have had too many mediocre players foisted on us in the past, all in the name of penny-pinching.
Southbank60
Robbie Brady all the way!

I applaud big un for the way he has run these deals- could not have expected a penny more than what we have got for them, especially when Adebayor went for 5-9 millionn (depending on what paper you read.) I think we have got the money we wanted for Fletch and it is market value. He did not handle it the best way but whatever he's gone now and we knew he ultimately would and he belongs in the PL. Jarvis told the club verbally that he wanted to go and gave it his all until he left, not complaining about sore toes or some other ailment. He also belongs there and I wish him the best. From 600k to 10 million that is some serious business. Before I even looked on the site, I was thinking about Euro flops we have endured in the past but I do not have that fear now, I think SS knows a good player. Not thrilled about someone who is 28 and playing for Copenhagen. Sorry but if you are that good you are not playing there at that age. Good to see the defender in today, a young name. Fingers crossed on Brady. Look at Togo and Peszko. Look very good players. Faith somewhat restored feeling good and fancy us for the win tomorrow.
