Wolves make seventh signing

If things do not work out for Ståle Solbakken at Wolverhampton Wanderers the Norwegian boss will not be able to say he wasn't given enough backing.

For someone with limited experience of English football he appears to have been given a free reign at Molineux, he has been able to sign who he likes and get rid of the players he doesn't.

Bjorn Sigurdarson, Frank Nouble, Tongo Doumbia, Slawomir Peszko, Georg Margreitter and Razak Boukari have all been signed by Solbakken and Bakary Sako becomes the most recent addition.

Sako is a 24-year-old French midfielder who signs from French club St Etienne for a transfer fee in excess of £3million and he has signed a three-year deal.

The former France Under-21 international is the most expensive signing Solbakken has made to date and that could be because the gaffer sees him as our potential match winner going forward.

He's left footed, can play on either wing, as an attacking midfielder or behind the striker, he should prove to be exciting and Sako hopes to make the Wolves fans happy.

"I am really happy to have signed for Wolves, It is important for me to be joining such an exciting project.' he told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: "I have always wanted to play in England because I believe that English football suits my style.

"And I think Wolves is a very good club for me to join.

"I am looking forward to playing for the fans and hopefully I can make them happy."

I think SS has done very well with the signings he has made. All look very promising & the board should be congratulated in backing him so generously. Might take a few weeks for a decent "bedding in period" but I reckon we have the fire power to destroy the Championship! UTW!!

I agree Tom. I think the determining factor to our development is that Stale is more tactically astute than Mick. After only 3 games this is already noticeable, even with Mick’s squad. I am delighted to see the fresh faces at Molineux hungry for games and eager to prove themselves to the fans and their peers. Fresh impetus, a fresh approach and the prospect of a promising season has given us all a much needed lift. UTW!!
BIG TASTY
Absolutely! Natually, it will take some time for the team to gel and I hope our fickle fans do not start howling for SS's head if we are not top of the league by the end of September. I am excited about this season, though I would like a couple of new defenders to ease my worries about losing matches through silly slips at the back. With half-decent defenders we would have won all three of our games so far.

I see Milijas is going home to Belgrade. Good luck, Ned, and all the best. A naturally gifted footballer who, unfortunately, requires more time in everything he does to be as effective as he could be for us.He needs to be somewhere the pace of the matches suits him better and where he won't be expected to defend. Nice gesture by the club to cancel his contract and make him a free-agent, too.
