'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Connor was a big part of Wolves success

Without a proper tribute to Terry Connor on the official website, the job has fallen to the players.

His departure was without doubt inevitable, it was only a matter of time before he was moved on following relegation last season.

That's football, a new management team comes in and they will have their own ideas, their own methods on how to do things and usually their own back-room team to put in place for things to work well on the training pitch.

It was always highly unlikely that Connor as a previous manager albeit for a short period, would fit in with Stale Solbakken's style and following Johan Lange being named as first-team coach, Connor's role was becoming more and more marginalised.

So he moves on from Molineux and will probably pitch up where ever Mick McCarthy ends up when he returns to football management.

The pair are both well thought of in the game, none more so than the Wolves training ground.

"'TC` made a great contribution to Wolves and to me.

"His main quality as a coach was he made individual players better and played a big part in our successes of recent seasons.' Wolves skipper Karl Henry told the Express & Star.

He added: "The manager has fresh ideas and has decided to go down a different route.

"But 'TC` will be missed and will be remembered for his achievements.'

For those of you on Twitter, a number of other players have also left their own well wishes for TC.
