'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Proud of my time at Molineux says Connor

Departing coach Terry Connor has spoken about his pride of working for Wolverhampton Wanderers over the past 13 years.

Ultimately of course rather than his whole 13 year tenure he will be remembered for his 13 game stint in charge of the first team, failing to win a single game and standing on deck until the Wolves ship sunk without a trace at the foot of the Premier League table.

But while relegation may have been confirmed under his watch, he had also played an important role in getting us there in the first place.

"I have spent 13 years working for the club in many varied roles, and while there have been plenty of ups and downs along the way I have to say it has been a fantastic time for me. Connor told Wolves Official Website.

Connor was assistant manager to Dave Jones during our first promotion winning campaign to the Premier League and remained in the position under Mick McCarthy as we rose once against from the second tier, as Champions and remained in the top flight for three seasons.

But with a new era under the watch of Stale Solbakken, Connor's time had come.

He continued: "I can`t deny that I am very disappointed with how things have ended but, for the rest of the time, I have loved every minute of working for Wolves.

"There have been some tough challenges both for me and the club during those 13 years, but I am leaving only with happy memories particularly of the success we have enjoyed in recent years in winning the Championship title and staying in the Premier League for three seasons.

"Wolves is a fantastic club with fantastic staff - I said last season how proud and honoured I felt to be manager for 13 games but to be honest that pride extends to all of the time I have spent at Molineux.
