Hennessey set for date with surgeon

Wayne Hennessey could be set to receive the all-clear today when he visits his surgeon to discuss how his rehabilitation has been going.

The Keeper suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in April and missed the end of last season following an operation.

Over the past few weeks he has been going through some light training exercises and after a meeting today, he hopes that he can build that momentum up over the next few weeks.

"It`s still going well at the moment, touch wood! I see the surgeon again on Tuesday and hopefully that will be good news and maybe my last visit if he gives me the all clear.' Hennessey told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: "If all is well I can maybe move into contact work and then try and push on from there.

"I`ve been back to see him a few times with Phil (Hayward) and he looks at the data of how I am with my kicking and diving and crosses in terms of how I am landing on my leg.

"It feels good at the moment but I`m not getting carried away.

Before his injury the Welsh number one had been impressing many managers up down the country, despite the side struggling in the Premier League.

Queens Park Rangers had been heavily linked, but of course once he was ruled out with injury, other clubs lost interest.

If he could return to that kind of form for Wolves then he would be a key player for Wolves during the second half of this seasons Championship season.
