Wanted - One experienced coach

Former Bolton, Liverpool and England coach Sammy Lee has been linked with a place in Ståle Solbakken's Wolves backroom team.

Solbakken has already begun the search for a new coach to add to his coaching set-up after the sacking of Terry Connor.

The new coach will be British and the Birmingham Mail have linked two potential candidates to the role.

The first link is former Aston Villa and Republic of Ireland assistant Kevin MacDonald, the second is current Bolton Academy coach Sammy Lee.

'I have had a couple of interviews with people and we will see,' the gaffer told the Mail.

But while the interview process has begun, Solbakken refused to be drawn on how long he thought the process would last.

He continued: "It is not like I am going into Wolverhampton city centre saying I am looking for a sports coach. For me it is important it is the right man, with the right philosophy who can do the things I want on the pitch without having to listen to me all the time. So in a way he can come in and do some of the workload and that we are a good trio with me, him and Johan. That`s how I see it.

"When I talk to them you have to have the feeling that as human beings you are close together, and you have to have the feeling that his ideas are right on the pitch and that he can give something to the group."

Other names mentioned have been former Chelsea assistant boss Ray Wilkins, who was linked with the managerial role by some in the media last season and former Tottenham coach Joe Jordan, who left White Hart Lane following the departure of Harry Redknapp from Spurs.

When asked by Express & Star if they could be contenders, Solbakken added: "I haven`t spoken to one of them!

Hopefully its someone who has a good record of building defensive units!

Ray Wilkins would be a brilliant coach but I fear it is too ambitious a move for the club to try.

Wanted: Striker who knows where the goal is ... cos our lot seem to have forgotten ... if only we had someone on our books.. oh wait, this from Hibs boss ""Griffiths’ goals have not only helped propel the Easter Road club into third place in the SPL table but earned him a Scotland Under-21 return and the Clydesdale Bank Player of the Month Award for August – all rewards, Fenlon insisted, for the hard work he has put in." Gotta be 2 steps above Sigurdarson - c'mon Stale, admit you made a mistake - you need to loan out siggy INSTEAD of Leigh Griffiths ...

"Leigh has no future under Stale" - yet this Sigurdarson does ? Oh **** has Stale been lunching with mick lately...

Hi guys: I'm back after a few days at the 'health spa'. Nice to see that posters on this site (and others) have picked up on my long-standing support for Griffiths. While the teams in the SPL quickly tail off in quality, one cannot deny that Griffiths has ability and that he deserves a chance to prove himself with us in the Championship.
