Leicester City are the bench mark

Ståle Solbakken believes that Leicester City are a good benchmark to judge ourselves too in this division.

They may not have set the league alight with their results thus far this season, but Solbakken believes that Leicester will be one of the strongest sides in the division.

"They are a very good team," said the Norwegian boss to the Birmingham Mail.

He added: "I saw their games against Blackpool and Blackburn and they are a strong Championship team.

"If we beat them we can beat anyone."

Leicester started the season well with a 2-0 win over Peterborough, but they then lost their next two games to Charlton and Blackburn before returning to winning ways against Blackpool.

Vital Wolves Comment: If Leicester are the benchmark then what will the result prove in terms of our season going forward?

Right, not even man flu will keep me from submitting my 2 pence : First half, although Less Stars were woeful, we were pretty good, it is such a delight to see a Wolves player taking on defenders and showing some skill on the ball... take a bow messrs Sako and Doumbia ... the passing and driving forward were a pleasure to watch, and this has been the first, for a long time, that I have actually enjoyed watching. Doyle exhibited some of the class we all know he is capable of, and his curving strike deserved a goal, and probably would have been a contender goal of the season. Enter the second half, once again, like a crazed monkey I was shouting at my telly, telling Berra / Stearman / Ward to make the challenge isntead of moonwalking backwards ... and it is testimont to Ikeme that we didnt succumb sooner ... the second half was a nightmare, we looked all out at sea, the woodwork, Ikeme and some last second lunges saving us from conceding 3 maybe 4 goals, i think pretty much every WOlves player was to blame here, cos all the confidence had leached out, and we were resorting to hoofing everything away from goal.... So, I think big gold stars for Sako, Doumbia Ikeme and Doyle, and yet again I call for a massive shape up of our defence - they are not good enough. One final note - and SB has mentioned this ad infinitum too - why, oh why do we have Leigh Griffiths banging em in for a Scottish premier side, when we have Sigurdarson - who I actually think I am a better player than - costing us £3 million ?? Bring Leigh back, and loan out (or sell) Sigurdarson.

When I have watched Downton Abbey, I will write my eye-witness report of the match but in essence I agree with AdMant ... with 1-2 reservations.

I really hope I do Patrick, but I've seen nothing so far to expect thsi, meanwhile, a young Griffiths is banging em in at Scot Prem level - which is more or less the level of the Championship ...
