Elokobi off to Bristol City

George Elokobi has left Wolves on loan and joined fellow Championship side Bristol City.

The 26-year-old left-back hasn't featured for Wolverhampton Wanderers under new gaffer Ståle Solbakken and obviously was getting itchy feet and wanted to play.

He had the option of joining Nottingham Forest or Bristol City, but with Greg Cunningham out for two months with an ankle injury, Elokobi was virtually guaranteed first team football for the entire span of his three month loan.

Elokobi however will not be allowed to feature for Bristol City against us on December 1.

Vital Wolves Comment: On first thought this move seems quite odd, the move leaves us short of options at left-back, although Kevin Foley and Ronald Zubar are both capable of playing there.

It'll go one of two ways, Solbakken will either live to regret it if we are caught short over the next three months, or things will be fine and Elokobi will have gained three months of action that otherwise would have been spent on the sidelines.

Time will tell. But it does seem to be a bit of an unnecessary risk?

Firstly I need to get this of my chest - I love Big George!! Yes he's a unit, yes he's not the best left back you'll ever see, but he has bags of heart and passion for the club. Top bloke!! I think a loan move for him is a good idea. I suspect Stale probably has something lined up in that position and I wouldn't be suprised if we see some movement over the Christmas period. UTW!

I remember George playing well against man utd in the 2-1 victory and playing really well against spurs, keeping bale quite down the flanks.

Everyone has a soft spot for George , as you say Big Tasty he has a big heart and passion and would run a through a brick wall for the club , but since that first injury he recieved he been awful in the position He's there to do and thats be a good defender , a powerful headed goal every now and then doesn't cover how very average a defender he is , he will be a good signing for Bristol City and we can get George off the wage bill , suprised Reckford was loaned out as he seems to have potential , lets hope he has someone as cover lined up as Ward is playing well !
