Wolves snap up Pennant

After assessing the situation of Wolves problems down the flanks Ståle Solbakken has made his move for Jermaine Pennant.

With Slawomir Peszko, Razak Boukari and Stephen Hunt all injured, Solbakken was left with just Bakary Sako as our only fit true wide player in the squad.

He could have contemplated pushing the likes of Dave Edwards, Stephen Ward or Kevin Doyle wide, or give youngsters Anthony Forde and Zeli Ismail a chance or even offered former Baggies winger Somen Tchoyi a short-term contract following his trial period with the club.

But in the end, a move into the loan market was chosen as the best way to deal with the mounting injury crisis with Stoke City's Jermaine Pennant joining Wolves on an emergency three month loan.

The 29-year-old hasn't featured much for Stoke thus far this season so an opportunity has arisen that suites both parties.

"Ståle wanted to find a high quality replacement for our injured wingers and we`re very pleased Stoke have agreed for Jermaine Pennant to join us on loan for an initial three month period.' Wolves CEO Jez Moxey told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: "He is a high quality player and Ståle is delighted to have secured his services until at least the New Year."
