Davis to keep knuckling down for Wolves

With Karl Henry suspended Wolves youngster David Davis wants to take his chance to impress.

Wolves skipper Karl Henry misses this Saturday's game at Huddersfield through suspension because during the opening ten games of the season he has managed to be cautioned five times, which has resulted in his one game ban this weekend.

With a spot opening up 21-year-old Davis would like to take the chance, to not only gain experience, but to also impress.

'When you've got Tongo Doumbia and Karl doing so well the way we're playing at the moment there are only two places available.' he told the Birmingham Mail.

He continued: 'I've just to keep knuckling down and working hard to try and prove myself and work my way in. I'm still only 21 and so have got years ahead of me to try and force my way in but I'd obviously like to do it sooner rather than later. But there's a part for everyone to play here this season.

'It's all about experience for myself and as well as playing myself I can learn from watching others in my position as well.

Davis has already made four Championship appearances so far this season, with two starts coming against Derby and Blackburn.

Vital Wolves Comment: Should Davis be the one to step in or will Ståle Solbakken change the system to adapt to the loss of Henry?
