'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Elokobi not feeling down

A certain Manchester City striker might have coined the phrase 'Why always me?', but Wolves full back George Elokobi will not be buying one of Balotelli's t-shirts while he's injured.

Elokobi refuses to get down about his injury, preferring instead to stay postive and feed off of the support he has received from around the world.

'I have to stay positive, And that's my mentality, to stay positive. It is not the end of the world, it is just a part of football.' George Elokobi told the Birmingham Mail.

He added: 'I look at life as a whole and I cherish what I've got. Of course I want to play football but if I am going to be injured for a long time there is not much I can do about it.

'There is no point putting my head down and crying and asking 'why me'? I am not feeling sorry for myself and I don't want people to feel sorry for me either.

'I want people to support me and that's what I've been getting from day one from fans and people around the world.'

Elokobi suffered a fractured and dislocated ankle during his on-loan debut with Bristol City at the end of September.

The crushing injury happened during the first half of the Championship fixture against Leeds and the injury will see him miss out on the remainder of the season.
