Hammill admits attack on paramedics

Adam Hammill has pleaded guilty to two counts of assault on two female paramedics.

The 24-year-old who was farmed out on loan by Wolves boss Ståle Solbakken in August to Huddersfield Town, was arrested by police on Sunday 7th October after he assaulted two female paramedics in Liverpool city centre.

The paramedics had been called out to an emergency outside Revolution Bar when they were assaulted.

The court heard how Hammill had been found unconscious but turned violent when he was assisted into a wheelchair.

Amanda Haycock, prosecuting, said ambulance staff Sky Armstrong and Tracy Northey were the victims of Hammill's assault as he attempted to bite them, spit blood at them and hit out at them catching Miss Northey on the nose.

Once the police were on the scene Hammill then verbally abused them.

She said: 'Despite appearing extremely drunk he had a very strong grip and was difficult to restrain.

'With the help of colleagues who had arrived to assist he was placed in the rear of the ambulance as he needed medical treatment and officers were trying to dodge Mr Hammill's mouth as he tried to bite those around him.'

The case was adjourned for sentencing next Tuesday.
