The Rumour That Wouldn't Die II

Wolverhampton Wanderers are once more being linked with a move for Newcastle United's Alan O'Brien.

The left sided winger was initially said to be high on Mick McCarthy's wishlist prior to the transfer window closing, but is now thought to be a loan target.

The pacy 21 year old would add valuable width to McCarthy's line up, and has impressed at every level he has played so far.

He has featured for Ireland u14's, u15's, u16's and u19's, and is a winger in the mould of Ryan Giggs, his self confessd role model.

It could just be media hype. Newcastle have already knocked Mick back at least once in his pursuit of O'Brien.

But his addition to the squad would provide Wolves with some much needed pace and width on the left.

O'briens highly rated at St James. If he's half as good as his idol he will be some player
