Berra red card rescinded

Christophe Berra will not miss any games for Wolves through suspension after the Football Association overturned his red card against Watford.

Berra was sent off for a shirt pull on a striker who was still able to get his shot away.

The decision lacked any common sense from the referee with less than half an hour of the game played and with Berra not really even the last man when the 'offence' was taking place, with plenty of cover.

It left Wolves fans baffled by the decision, as Berra hadn't denied an obvious goal scoring opportunity as the shot was still taken and so early in the game it ruined any possibility of an even contest.

But at least Wolves will now not face a double punishment of a suspension to compound insult to injury.

"I am very happy with the FA`s decision, with these appeals you are never too sure how they are going to go but I am glad that having seen the incident again, the FA have decided it shouldn`t have been a red card.' Berra told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: "It is still disappointing because I was sent off early in the game and the lads had to play with ten men for 65 minutes which made it very difficult.

"And of course we ended up losing the game.

"But I would say that referees have a very hard job - I think it is probably the hardest job in the game.
