Wolves in hunt for new chief scout
Following Wolverhampton Wanderers announcement that we had promoted Kevin Thelwell from his position as academy boss to the clubs new position of Head of Football Development and Recruitment Wolves gaffer Ståle Solbakken has stated that he intends to add a new chief scout to the backroom staff.
Former Chief Scout Dave Bowman and European Scout Ian Evans have now both been re-united with Mick McCarthy at Ipswich, which leaves at least one place to fill in Wolves new management/scouting structure.
"I think in the near future there will be another role beneath Kevin which will probably be chief scout," said manager Ståle Solbakken to Wolves Official Website.
He continued: "So we`re on the way towards building a club that can stand on its own two feet and be more effective in the market, not only for my transfers but to the youngsters as well.
"We`re in the market for the right people and now the first appointment is 'in the box`, maybe the second and the third will come along."
Any new scout would report to Kevin Thelwell, who in turn reports to Chief Executive Jez Moxey, it appears that there will be some independence between these roles and Solbakken's coaching staff, however Solbakken will still have the final say in transfer deals involving the first team.
