Clean sheet for Wolves squad

Clean sheet for Wolves squad

Unfortunately not a clean sheet in the sense of 90 minutes passing without a goal, we've only had one of them since October.

I am of course referring to the cliché that a new manager steps into a team and everyone get a clean slate to work from.

They all had a clean slate following Mick McCarthy, then they all had a clean slate following Terry Connor and now they'll receive another clean slate following the sacking of Stale Solbakken and the appointment of Dean Saunders.

"I`ve said to them all 'you`ve got a blank sheet of paper - show me you want to be here`. Saunders told the Birmingham Mail.

He added: "I`ve got no perceived ideas on any of them. I think we`ll probably get some offers for some of them and without me having seen them I might have to say 'yes` if it sheds a few players - or I have to use the money to get a couple in.

"But ideally I want to see them play. All I ask is that the players are patient with me.'

Two players who Dean Saunders is excited to see are Stephen Hunt and Jermaine Pennant.

Both might have thought that there time at Molineux was coming to an end, Pennant's loan from Stoke expires next week while Hunt is out-of-contract in June.

He continued: 'Hunt is a player I`m looking forward to working with. He`s got Premiership quality and a good attitude - he gives you everything. Let`s get him fit.

"I`ve given (Pennant) a clean sheet of paper too. We`ll have a conversation about it. He`s in a difficult situation because another manager brought him in on loan and I`ve got too many players, so we`ll see. But he`s a talented player."

HUNT ??????????? Sweet Jesus, this gives me more than forebodings at least 5 in fact ... If his "first bite" squad is the same as what started against Luton, Im out. I really am effing out. Giving even a single one of those ********s first choice flies in the face of everything that is fair an just on this planet. I will scream and go mad and shout my heart out to support the youngsters who havent been given a go .. but never shall I put my support behind those lazy, self centred, over-paid ass wipes again.

Ok AdMant, I can save you some time here. There will be some changes to the team for tomorrows game, maybe one or two. The entire starting 11 from Luton will not be dropped. And I would agree that is the way to do it, I like hunt, he scored the goal that kept us up one season, along with a few good performances towards the end so we had a chance of staying up. Maybe his best days are past being the age he is but certainly he could be a game changer!

Of course you are right Patrick, and I know that, I just get infuriated when these perennial underachievers get given chance after chance after chance ... surviving manager after manager, collecting their fat pay cheques and doing nowt to deserve it. All it would take is to sell Berra and Stearman and bench a couple others to make them sit up an realise we arent gonna be taken for a ride any more. I dont agree with you on Hunt, however, i place him alongside OHara as a slow, ineffective player that should start looking at getting training badges rather than kicking a ball. But we are all entitled to our opinions. WE ARE WOLVES!

I agree Admant those useless bunch of loafers have along with fickle fans deprived us of a manager who knew more about football than they will ever know and that bunch of morons who own the club caved in, Stale with his players would have given us a premiership team and not what we have now a mediocre championship team with the same dross given another chance what if they dont like Deans methods at this rate we will be in the bloody conference league
