'If It's Football, It's Vital'

I will get Wolves winning says Saunders

We've all read Dean Saunders plans regarding getting the players in better shape.

He wants them to graft, he wants them to fight, he wants them to eat healthily and live the right way.

He comes across as a hard task master, someone with a bit of grit, which is something we have lacked over the past twelve months when we've merely rolled over for the opposition on way to many occasions.

But if you were expecting an old fashioned style of football to go along with this more British style in comparison to the outgoing Stale Solbakken, then Saunders believes you will have to think again.

He might have picked up the majority of his managerial experience in the non leagues with Wrexham, with a dash of Championship and League One knowledge, but don't expect a kick and rush style that is sometimes the norm in the Conference.

"I have told the players that, in the first 10 minutes, we have to show the supporters we mean business.

"I`m sure they will be on the edge of their seats. We have got to give them something to cheer. If the tempo of our game is too slow, it will be like sitting in a library.' Saunders told the Express & Star.

But while he wants to build an exciting and most importantly winning team he also warned that these things take time.

He continued: "I will get this team winning. My job description is to win games and I`m obliged to entertain the public who pay to get in.

'So what they`re watching has got to be entertaining as well. If you have got money you can do it quicker, but it still takes time to build a team."
