'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Twitter race row for Griffiths

Another Wolves player has managed to get himself into bother with the police whilst away on loan from Molineux.

In November Adam Hammill escaped a prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to two counts of assault on two female paramedics whilst on loan with Huddersfield - Full Story - Click Here.

Now Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths who is on loan to Hibernian is facing a police investigation after he allegedly made a racist comment on social media site Twitter.

The 22-year-old who has since apologised, deleted the remark and protected his account, got into an argument with with another twitter user which resulted in Griffiths telling @Zak_Iqbal to: 'f*** off back to your own country ya clown'.

A statement on Wolves Official Website read: 'Wolves are aware of an alleged racist comment made on Twitter last night by Leigh Griffiths.

'The Club condemns such comments in the strongest possible terms and are extremely angry and disappointed.

'The player is currently on loan at Hibernian FC and is likely to remain there for the rest of the season.

'He is, therefore, subject to the disciplinary procedures of Hibernian FC and those of the Scottish Football Association. However, Wolves are in dialogue with Hibernian and are making their feelings known on the matter.

Yup, it does all sound a little too convenient... oh well, at least you wont have to hear me bleating on about him any more. I will instead turn my attentions back to FRIMPONG !!!

Looks like he's f***ed off back to his own country, the clown... and Scotland may be coming to us. Regardless of who's playing up front, we need to get the ball to them with some kind of quality. Rather than get excited about players who play for other teams (and aren't coming here in a month of sundays), i'm looking forward to seeing how JOH holds up. From everything that DS has said, I think we can forget about sideways-moving possession and look forward to, well, looking forward. I've said previously that the stage is set for O'Hara to make a bigger splash in this smaller pond we find ourselves in. Blackburn's recent woes have made us look like a model of stability, so let's hope we add to their troubles and DS gets off to a flyer.

thats the problem with these sites and racism, anyone can say anything about you but you retaliate and boy how that word raises its head, the guy who the remark was pointed to was also guilty of barriking Griffiths, we all have a duty of care and its not only the white race who shall we say uses choice language, racism is caused by the very laws that is intended to stop it, Griffiths was wrong and so was the other person but only Griffiths will get done, my wife was called white trash by a south african who she worked with guess what nothing was done, as I said all of us wether black or white have a duty of care but this is about football so yes maybe he wants a move and because of this he may get his wish

I'll tell you the trouble with Twitter, Billy. Silly mouthy b******s give far too much information away about themselves. You know the kind of thing; Full name, age, whereabouts they live. Then they start abusing people (who've been reading everything they've written, without them knowing) and get themselves into a spot of bother. Griffiths isn't the only person you know that's done that this week...

I agree winstonsmith but thats the problem with so called free speech, some are freer than others thats why i am not on twitter or face book and players and people with responsibilites should know better, as far as i am concerned actions speak louder than words, life has changed in that people in the public eye have to watch there Ps and Qs but all abuse should be stamped out regardless of who you are, on the note of football is Griffiths the sort of player we want representing our club if he is a bigot or rascist then no I dare say the club have already put a line under this and he will be on his way but then i do not know him personally and so cannot judge only he knows what he is so thanks winston for your imput
