Saunders will not raid Doncaster

Doncaster Rovers fans can breathe a sigh of relief because Dean Saunders has no intention of attempting to take any of his former players to Molineux.

It's a normal tactic up and down the land that managers take backroom staff and former players with them to their new jobs when they move on.

Stale Solbakken was a good example of this filling up the Wolves dressing room with players and staff that he'd previously worked with and Mick McCarthy is another.

McCarthy already has TC and others with him and he's recently been linked with quite a few of our players.

But according to our friends over at Vital Doncaster, Saunders will not be taking the same approach.

'I will be shedding players rather than signing them. I would not like to take any players of Doncaster. I want to see them do well. The first thing I asked when I came off today was, how did they get on?' he told Radio Sheffield on Saturday.

"Saunders will not raid Doncaster"... Let Admant translate: "morgan and moxey will not be spending a penny" ... Lightning the load is of course important, but so too is strengthening the squad. At best, we are stuck in this division, but on THAT performance on Saturday, with THOSE players, be in no doubt that we are certainly in a relegation fight too.

If things are going to improve I am not sure raiding Doncaster is the answer anyway, although I am sure we could swap half a dozen of theirs for ours and it would not make us look any weaker, which sums up our current crop. I am alarmed by this constant talk about needing to move players out. That is all well and good but where has the Fletcher and Jarvis money gone?

I think you will find a rather healthy chunk of that money propping up Morgans portfolio. Pretty well played it has to be said, if you'd proposed an 18th place finish in the Champs with all our good players sold, just 6 months ago, there would have been a riot in Wolvo.. but they've newtered the club in stages so the masses have kept their pitch forks in the shed.
