'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wolves just need a bit of tinkering

After two games and two draws, Dean Saunders believes he's now getting his head around the task in hand at Molineux.

When he first walked in the door his first job was to install his philosophy of hard work and he came across as a bit of a task master.

Then he stated that he would be shedding the size of the squad, something that can also work to inspire players to work harder if they don't want to lose their place in the team.

Next up is evaluating the squad, working out what players you've got and what they can offer you. That then enables you to see your weaknesses and where to improve.

So following relegation from the Premier League and half a season in the Championship which left us in the bottom seven what's Saunders evaluation?

'I'm getting a clearer picture of what we need to do well in this league, I don't think there's major surgery needed. We just need a bit of tinkering around.' Saunders told Sky Sports.

He continued: 'Two games and we've let in just one goal so it's the start I wanted. This will give us some belief after the last away game (FA Cup shock defeat to Luton).

'I thought Ebanks-Blake looked dangerous. He looked as if he could get a goal for us. Obviously Kevin Doyle is an international, so we have some good players, and they just lack a bit of belief and confidence.

'If we get a couple of wins, it will be good. It might see players play like they should.'

Major surgery costs money... It is clear that funds only go one way in this club - from the fans pockets straight into morgan and moxey's.

I've already commented on the situation but I can see DS's point about wanting to have a good look at the squad before acting ... that is, if he has financial support, of course! Even so, he could stop any WW fan at random and instantly be made aware of the squad's shortcomings, as well as the problems of accessing the club's overflowing coffers. Controversial or what?
Southbank60
I think the natives will get restless very quickly Southbank... especially come February and we've signed no one, or worse, a reject from Mccarthy's Ipswich... Not DS' fault, but as you say, we ALL know the deal, and will have no problem shouting the odds at the Mol ... We are Wolves and We need shot of this scouse.

Did anyone tot up how much we actually spent in the summer? I didn't. More to the point why do the club bang on about being sensible when everyone knows we raised close to 25 million just from the Fletcher and Jarvis sales? With a squad of close to 50 (how and why did they allow that to happen?) of course he has to trim the squad but I think it is a bit more important to be able to put 11 players out there that can win us the odd game here or there otherwise we will in fact be dallying with relegation. DS is saying the right things and I do not anticipate a relegation battle but he needs to be given a chance and all this talk seems to suggest he has already been told to lower expectations with regards bringing players in.

It's not taken you long to suss out what's wrong, NYCW!
Southbank60
NYCW the reason being that nobody else wants the crap that we haveand every manager thats comes in just adds more to it.If the rumours are true were now looking at a 33y old striker that even MM dos not think good enough sort of explains everythink that is wrong at the club.If you take into account that nearly 90'% of the players we have were here 4 seasons ago when we got promoted. We,ve had 4 managers since then and not one has done any thing about the crap still being here i,e why are we trying to get Berra to sign a new contract he is part of the problem all the fans know this why cant management realise hes not good enough.

Why anyone believes that Moxey pockets money is short sighted he is an employee of the club and takes his orders from Morgan end of and he has done a great job in getting the 25 million, Morgan holds the strings as he owns the club. As far as i am concerned the south bank is a disgrace to the club all they shout about is Moxey and there hatred for the Albion, they ignore health and safety law by standing and believe me the powers that be can shut it down its not Moxey or the club its the Law but it should be for away fans as well. I totally agree about the team and I for one would get shut of Doyle asap yes he works hard but he couldnt score in a brothel, we have always had target men Doog and Richards, Bull and Mutch to name a few and if Blakey or Sako dont score we have had it, the main problem is the pressure put on the players at home the Molinuex is like a morgue and yes i have heard all the arguements but fans can break or make a team and our fans have broken the heart of our club not all i add but the moaners and they are the worst set of fans i have had the misfortune to be amongst in 43yrs, not only do they attack Ohara with his child in tow some moron puts paint on Stales car and you think the players should respect and want to play in front of our lot , if you want good players to come look in the mirror and then wonder why they turn us down we will be lucky to get a player from the conference, yes the team is less than what we want but that team took us up and is well capable of walking this league but for some reason they are not performing me thinks the fans should shoulder some of the blame dont you
