Wolves gaffer Dean Saunders intends to begin making strides with tinkering with his inherited squad on Friday.
The former Wrexham and Doncaster boss has experience of working in difficult circumstances and he finds himself in another at Molinuex.
He's got to cut down the size of the squad, whilst also hoping to add to it to improve the quality.
So does that mean that he needs to make room before bringing anyone new in? Or will it be an ongoing process? Friday could be our first indicator either way.
'I spoke to Jez (Moxey) again (Monday) morning about the playing staff. The chairman (Morgan) wants me to get the wage bill down. I`ve got one eye on that and one eye on making us a better team.
"We`re having another chat on Friday and we`ll probably make some decisions on which way to move forward.' Saunders told the Express & Star.
He continued: "We`re receiving phone calls for different players and I`ve got my eye on a couple who might be able to help us.
"That`s ongoing and it`s changing by the day. But we`re not doing anything until Friday either way, unless something comes up.
"It gives me a bit more time as well to work with the players and it gives people time to ring up about our players."
Vital Wolves Comment: Of course the problem Saunders has is the players who will have been attracting interest are not necessarily the ones he would prefer to get shot off.
As alluded too in the comments on this very website, there's a reason he may want shot of a few and it's because they are deemed not good enough. If that's the case then who is going to come in for them? Are lower league clubs going to be able to afford them and would the player make the move?
