'If It's Football, It's Vital'

TFI Friday?

Last week Wolves gaffer Dean Saunders said that today would be the day that he will have made his mind up about the Wolves squad.

He has two main aspects in mind when looking at the squad, shifted out about half a dozen players who he doesn't think fit the Wolves set-up going forward, whilst at the same time hoping to add to the squad to improve the immediate quality.

We can all attempt to second guess who Saunders would like to shift out of Molinuex, but whether or not that's going to be possible is a completely different matter with player and agents needing to be satisfied and of course finding another club willing to take them!

That said, one of the main questions was whether or not Saunders would have to shift players out before being allowed to bring players in and if the rumours are to be believed, that doesn't appear to necessarily be the case.

The Express & Star have reported that Saunders has targeted Aston Villa defender Stephen Warnock. Now we do face opposition from Leeds and Bolton so its nowhere near a done deal, but it is an indication that Saunders will be able to make moves in the transfer window.

The 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer so could be looking at this loan move to turn permanent at the end of the season. If that's the case then it could come down to money and considering his current Villa deal according to the E&S is £40,000 a week, that could prove to be a stumbling block.

transfer news conspicuous only by its absence...

Better get going then. Another home defeat. And captain Morgan has become quite trigger-happy of late. I do not know whether it would constitute a record, but DS would be the fourth manager sacked inside 12 months. I had admiration for the Chairman when he stuck with MM through two relegation battles. Pity, a true pit, he sacked MM when he did.
