'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The pressure is on Wolves

The pressure is on Wolverhampton Wanderers to pull away from the relegation zone in the Championship.

This season is no longer about attempting to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt, this is about survival, fighting off the chance of back-to-back relegations and preparing to start again next season.

After years of continuity and stability, Molineux has become rather unsettled over the past year.

Mick McCarthy was in the hot seat for 5 years and 207 days, but since his sacking on February 13th 2012, instability has shone through.

We had the managerial hunt farce, which resulted in numerous managers rejecting the position before we settled on Terry Connor, mainly because it appeared no-one wanted the job.

13 games passed and relegation from the Premier League followed without a single victory.

Then Ståle Solbakken came and went after just 30 games and now it's Dean Saunders go.

After three games he's still searching for a victory and Wolves now sit 7 points ahead of the relegation zone, with four of six teams below us all holding a game in hand.

'We have got to get away from the bottom. We have to get a couple of wins.

'It is a difficult job because it is a massive club and no-one expects the club to be where it is.' Saunders told Sky Sports.

He continued: 'Every game we are expected to win and the pressure is on. Our players have to show the mental strength to walk through disappointment.

'There are more downs than ups in football and the top players come back from the downs.

And we have to do this without SEB as he looks like Palace bound.

Gregory House if its true and we get one million for him good bit of business, as the way i look at it he is part of the problem does not score enough goals and out of contract in the summer. His is the reason we got relegated to many Sebs in the team who were not good enough hopefully their will b a few more out of thedoor in the next three days and a couple of new faces coming in.
kiawolves
yes Kia i agree on this one. he couldnt cut it in the prem and looks a shadow of himself from say 3 seasons ago. better 1 million now than nowt in the summer

If we only get 1mill, how much will they be willing to spend to replace him? 1 mill wont get you much unless you go for a foreign gamble...

One more question, if Dean Saunders does not get us a win come Thursday will he be sacked?
Patrickdoran
well we sold fletcher for 12 million and spent nowt so thats 0% probably pro-rata
gregory house
we wont be replacing him with Scotland at least, hes gone to Barnesly. near miss that one.

Here is a transfer policy I would like to see in place Manager goes onto google.com and searches laliga top scorer Scrolls down to say... the 6th person on the list Roberto Soldado, Valencia, 11 goals this season Offer Valencia 3million.

Stearman is Ipswich bound, will this mean we can buy a defender now?

Saunders doesnt need "maybe one or two players" he needs a bloody miracle... Apathy and laziness has been allowed to spread and contaminate the bulk of the team and we are now looking at a situation that most doctors would be left with no option but to amputate.... I read a post from another blogger that he wouldnt mind if we got dumped down another league and the overpaid goons would have to jump ship... and I have to say I would quite look forward to a team full of Cassidys, Batths, Davis's and Zele's even, giving it there all week in week out, no matter what division we play in... I would love to watch my beloved Wolves show some teeth after what feels like an eternity since Ive seen amount of pride or passion on the field... and I, like many many others are well past fed up. Please, just leave, you know who you are, please just stop wiping your arses with the club we have adored our entire lives...

I have been thinking on similar lines, AdMant, if only in a desperate attempt to find a positive in the mire of our current situation. Though I would rather we transformed the club, while playing in the Championship, a team full of youngsters would probably result in our relegation. If that did happen, I would welcome a whlesale clear-out of the current squad, saving one or two players.
