Wolves became over confident says Saunders

While everyone else in football was wheeling and dealing in the transfer market, Wolves were on the pitch.

Whether that distracted from our efforts in the transfer market or not only the bosses at Molineux will really know.

But while movement in the January transfer window would have been nice, three points and Dean Saunders first win as gaffer would have been better. Unfortunately we ended up with neither.

A fifth defeat in seven league games, does not make good reading and neither does the Championship table which has us sitting just five points clear of the drop in 19th place, but with all five teams below us holding at least one game in hand.

We are still without a win since Dean Saunders took charge last month, although some will cling on to the improved performances.

'I thought we played well but missed our chances. We had at least 10 clear cut chances and then got done twice on the counter attack.' Saunders told the BBC.

He continued: 'For the first goal we backed off and let the lad get into the six-yard box. It was not the best defending but when you lose as many games as we have done you lose belief.

'I think we became over confident and we should have stopped Nugent right where he picked up the ball on the half way line.'

I could have told the tit it was not the best defendind everyone on here could have told him because are defence is *****e and he should have boughttwo or three new defenders. He keeps talking a bout confidence yes in some ways it is but its also about being able to defend and over three and a half seasons it has been proved are defence has been useless. Alls he had to do wa look at the goals against columnand that would have told him how bad they are but as normal nothing changes these players have played in the PL so they cant be that bad its the same old crap.

correction, now 21st and just 2 points above the drop ... please publish the article regarding Morgans failed bid to buy all the Redrow shares ... leading to use the money from Wolves players sales to bail himself out... the danger is real boys and girls, not jst of relegation, but we are not a financially stable club any more, and what/if any monies Wolves generate will be pumped into Morgans flagging portfolios. Premier league? You are having one helluva laugh/.

Confidence is low because the players are on easy street, do any of them really care about the club and where it is heading, not at all, just looking at the bank account!
