Wolves is a sinking ship

Dean Saunders has described Wolverhampton Wanderers as a sinking ship.

Unfortunately it's an analogy which is highly accurate to explain recent times at Molinuex.

Under performing in the Premier League Wolves sacked Mick McCarthy, TC then took over following a disastrous managerial hunt, he failed to secure a victory and relegation was eventually confirmed.

Stale Solbakken came in during the summer, under performed, the team slipped towards the bottom of the Championship table, he was sacked and now Dean Saunders has taken over the captains table and continues to search for his first victory as boss.

He's made it publicly clear that he needs new signings to improve results, one new face has already come in and maybe two more are expected.

"It`s like a sinking ship and I`ve got to keep plugging the holes, stop the water coming in and eventually sail the ship.

"We have to plug the gaps now and then start afresh in July with fresh ideas, fresh faces and a fresh mentality with people who have done well with other clubs." Saunders told the Express & Star.

He continued: "Because we`ve slipped to where we are, it`s more difficult to concentrate on recruitment, There are players I`d like to get, but it`s not necessarily the best ones or about picking the best players for Saturday.

"It`s about getting the right players who will make the team function properly."

He does say the right things, did anyone see blackburn got Rekik, we could have done with him...

Stale was at once jinxed with a spate of injuries, in particular to the players he had signed, and DS seems unable to steady the ship. It is clear the Club has been cursed! Neither Norseman nor Welshman can succeed. 'MM does not stand for Merlin the Magician'. It would appear that it does.

LovesW: have you forgotten how bad it was under MM for most of our stay in the PL? If the board had sacked him after the second season, when we survived with less than 3 minutes to go, we would have had the whole summer to ease in a new manager and sign up quality players. The board was to blame for reasons which are now becoming clear. And,that is what I told the guy who recently phoned to ask me to renew my season ticket.

Don't think it matters who had managed us then SB. They would not have been backed enough with funds for those quality players.
MMDukesee
That's the point I am making, MMD. Even so, I don't think MM is a PL manager and we could have done better had we appointed someone who was attuned to the demands of current top-flight football.
Southbank60
Southbank, I was only amusing myself, and hoping to amuse readers here, with the thought of MM putting a spell on the Club after he was sacked. That's where the Magician bit comes in, in the negative sense, not that he applied the art in the positive sense when in charge of the team. He should have been shown the door after that 'Survival Sunday'. I am with you there.

Well it is now sunk, Blimey only Cardiff to come!!!! How times have changed!
