13 game winless streak ends for Wolves

13 games have passed since Wolverhampton Wanderers last tasted victory.

Dean Saunders had to wait almost two months for his first three points in charge, but they finally came last night with a two - nil win away from home at Millwall.

An early David Edwards volley put Wolves in front inside the opening ten minutes and although that was our only shot of the first half it was enough to give us the lead at the break.

Then Sylvan Ebanks-Blake doubled that shot tally on the hour mark, with a fantastic overhead kick, again beating David Forde in the Millwall net.

They proved to be the only shots Wolves had all night, but they proved valuable as those precious three points lift us out of the Championship relegation zone.

"It`s always nice to get your first win, It has been a long time coming but the performances have not been too dissimilar to that one tonight.' Saunders told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: "We`ve just got on the wrong end of results and have probably played better than that.

'it was nice to keep a clean sheet and not concede near the end and that will give the lads belief as well.'

Brilliant ! Very good performance all round, and though the opposition was quite poor, it must still be a great confidence boost to win AND keep a clean sheet ... Let's keep it up !

The table will make more sense next tuesday, when Posh(away at Leeds) and Barnsley(at home to Brighton) play their games in hand.
