Griffiths will return says Moxey

Leigh Griffiths will be swapping the Scottish Premier League for England's League One next season.

Despite having his contract extended by 12 months at Molinuex, striker Leigh Griffiths has made it clear that he does not want to be at Wolves next season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers only handed Griffiths a 12-month extension to remain at Molineux over the past few days.

The 22-year-old striker has impressed many since his loan move to Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League.

He's won the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year this season and has scored 28 goals in 42 appearances this season and still has the Scottish FA Cup final against Celtic to play.

Griffiths was set to be out-of-contract at Molinuex at the end of the season, however Wolves have had a one year option on the forward and former boss Dean Saunders had previously implied that he intended to take it.

Despite Saunders sacking and Griffiths apparent lack of desire to stay with Wolves the extension was automatically put in place.

Immediately following the announcement Griffiths wasted no time in telling the Scottish media that he would prefer to remain with his adopted club, but that will not happen according to Wolves CEO Moxey.

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said to the Shropshire Star: "Leigh is coming back to us this summer, I can assure you of that. These issues have been discussed."

I doubt if it is case closed - but - it should be, the club need to tell Hibs that if they want him that bad stump up the money and due to his new cap has risen to £6 million, if they can't afford it tell them to back off or report them. Griffith should be told the same shut up and play for the first team or train with the Academy. New name in the mix for managers job - Steve Davis from Crewe.
