Will Bakary Sako leave Molineux and Wolverhampton Wanderers for a final time today?
Bakary Sako had been expected to have left Wolves by now, the exciting player had been linked with Premier League side Fulham throughout the summer, but the deal stalled and collapsed over the two clubs failing to agree a fee.
Then up stepped Championship side Nottingham Forest, but they too have failed to match our evaluation of the player.
With the transfer window slamming shut this evening, this move appeared to make some very important steps forward over the weekend with Sako refusing to play for Wolves against Port Vale due to not being in the correct frame of mind.
But Forest have yet to match the £4million asking price and instead have only matched the £2.5million offered by Fulham.
Wolves have been clear that they will not sell at this price and have told Forest to up their bid if they do want this deal concluded.
"We had an offer two days ago from Nottingham Forest for which we turned down - it was nowhere near our valuation, I`m not going to disclose how much it is but it`s an offer we`ve turned down. And as far as I`m aware, we`re not close to agreeing a fee.' Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett told the Nottingham Post in Sunday.
He continued: "He`s not a player we`re desperate to sell - we`re not in that situation. But there is some speculation, he`s aware of the interest and he wasn`t in the right frame of mind to play. Those are his words, not mine.
"So we`ll see now what happens over the course of the weekend, but we`re not desperate to sell him. We`re not looking to do a deal necessarily, but if it comes at a decent level you have to think about it.
"But I`ve got assurances that should Tuesday morning come and he`s still a Wolves player then he will be 100 per cent committed to the cause, as he has been so far because he`s played very well. I`m hopeful that he will stay and contribute more."
