Doyle suffers thigh tear

There has been some good news and some bad news for Kenny Jackett at Wolverhampton Wanderers training today.

The good news is that Leigh Griffiths didn't suffer any ligament damage, when he limped off against Shrewsbury with an injured ankle over the weekend.

He should return to training either today or later this week and will be in contention for the Sheffield United on Saturday.

Unfortunately it wasn't good news for Kevin Doyle, having already missed the Shrewsbury encounter he could be out for longer after suffering a tear in his thigh muscle.

"I think (Griffiths) should train today - that`s the plan,"

"It`s just swelling on the ankle that we anticipate has gone down, whereas with Doyle, it`s a thigh strain that showed up a very small tear on the scan.' Jackett told the Express & Star.

He continued: "It`s muscular which may be a bit more difficult.

"As soon as the swelling from Griffiths` ankle goes down, he`ll be OK.

"There`s no damage to his ligaments.

Bad news about Doyle. Griffiths seems to play far better alongside him than without. I hope he returns to fitness soon.
