McCarthy to re-sign Ebanks-Blake
In January 2008 then Wolves boss Mick McCarthy signed former Man Utd trainee Sylvan Ebanks-Blake from Plymouth for £1.5million.
177 league appearances were to follow (54 as substitute) with 61 goals at Championship and Premier League level.
Last season, for a while at least it looked like his goals would save us from relegation from the Championship, he scored 15 goals, with 4 goals in 5 appearances before breaking his leg during the derby victory over Birmingham.
It was the start of a run of injuries for Dean Saunders side and Wolverhampton Wanderers were eventually relegated with Ebanks-Blake released.
But Mick McCarthy looks set to give the now 27-year-old a life-line, with Ipswich Town set to offer the striker a short term contract to return to football.
He could be re-united with ex-Wolves midfielder Stephen Hunt, who after turning down Blackpool has also recently been training at Ipswich.
