American striker joins Wolves on trial

United States and Los Angeles Galaxy striker Jack McBean has flown over to England for a trial with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The forward, now 18, was the LA Galaxy's youngest ever signing at 16, when he joined the team alongside the likes of David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane.

He won the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship in 2011 and has scored twice in the USA's top division, the MLS.

"As the MLS season draws to a close we may do that with a few other players as well where we can have a look, whether it be players potentially for the first-team or the development group," Jackett told the Express & Star.

He continued: "The MLS is a very good league and several exciting players from there have gone on to the Premier League.

"Jack is here training for a few days and we`ll see how he fits in and whether he`s one to look at in the future."

Vital Wolves Comment: Not really convinced what level of football the MLS really is. Obviously it has it's star players, but the standard still seems quite low. A move to League One and potentially the Championship in up coming years would surely offer a step up in standard?
