Championship clubs line up for Ebanks-Blake

Championship promotion hopefuls Leicester City and Burnley are both being linked with Wolves favourite Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

Ebanks-Blake might have remained in the Wolves treatment room following the expiry of his contract, but that is no indication towards the possibility of earning a new contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 27-year-old has been out-of-contract since the end of last season, but has continued to work through a rehabilitation programme following his broken leg at the end of last season.

Prior to the injury, Ebanks-Blake had scored 15 goals last season, with four goals coming in his last five appearances. His form had threatened a Wolves revival, but his injury virtually ended Dean Saunders hopes of avoiding the drop and Wolves succumbed to back-to-back relegations.

But despite his proven pedigree in the league above, Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett has no interest in giving SEB are second chance.

'We wouldn't be looking at a deal for Sylvan, I just feel that I don't particularly want to go back to the former players. It would be nice to bring new, fresh players in.' he told the Birmingham Mail last month.

So what does the future hold for the striker?

According to the Burnley Express, Sean Dyche will not be drawn on speculation linking him with Ebanks-Blake.

When asked directly he simply replied 'Just another one of the many (rumours)."

The Birmingham Mail believe Leicester City are also strong contenders, now that SEB is edging his way back to fitness.
