Is double figures target crackers for Jacobs?

The Wolverhampton Wanderers attack was heavily depleted when Kevin Doyle, Leigh Griffiths and Bjorn Sigurdarson all left the club on transfer deadline day.

Some Wolves fans questioned taking such a risk on new signings Nouha Dicko and Leon Clarke to hit the ground running following their moves to Molinuex and to find the goals to fire us into the Championship.

Those fears hit even harder when Leon Clarke was ruled out with a heel injury for the game against Notts County.

A tweak from Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett saw Nouha Dicko take up the lone striker role while Michael Jacobs played the more advanced central role, in behind Dicko.

The reward for the 22-year-old was two goals and three points.

"You always want to be scoring goals and as a midfielder or a winger you aim for double figures," Jacobs told the Express & Star.

In 20 appearances this season, 14 since his move to Molinuex, Jacobs has scored 5 goals. His best season return since leaving Northampton in May 2012 for Derby.

He continued: "I didn`t really play many games at the start of the season at Derby but it`s nice to get some here and hopefully I can score a few more before the end of the season.

"I enjoyed the first goal especially. I enjoyed the second one too, but scoring another header for the first was really nice because people don`t expect me to do as well in the air as that and it set us on the way, which is always nice.
