Doyle keen to resurrect international career

After leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers for the remainder of the season, Kevin Doyle is keen to impress at new club Queens Park Rangers.

The 30-year-old believes that showing his worth in the Championship could also see his Republic Of Ireland career prolonged, now that Giovanni Trapattoni has left.

Doyle has hit the ground running at Loftus Road, taking no time to adapt to life back in the Championship after half a season in League One.

Doyle puts that down to playing in his favoured forward role, where he has scored 2 goals in 3 appearances, adding to his 3 goals in 29 appearances already for Wolves this season.

"I wasn`t playing up top at Wolves. I was more of an attacking midfielder although I enjoyed it, It was something different.

"But I was never going to score as many goals from that position. Listen, if I`m picked to play in there it`s not my job to go moaning about it." Doyle told Get West London.

He added: "It`s a long way to the next important qualifier, and if I can play well at QPR then things will take care of themselves.
